Obituary

Dorothy Jean Whaley went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the age of 99. The daughter of Martha Alice (Stevens) and Roy Joseph Bianchi, Dorothy was born on November 8, 1923 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, Dorothy grew up attending OKC Public Schools. In 1941, Dorothy graduated from Capitol Hill High School. At a very early age Dorothy learned to play the violin as well as the piano. A very gifted and talented musician, Dorothy was honored to play the violin for the OKC Junior Symphony. She continued to play the violin and piano throughout the course of her life. She attended Oklahoma State University for two years following her high school graduation. Later on February 16, 1945, Dorothy married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Ray Whaley at the First Christian Church in downtown, Oklahoma City. This union of marriage was blessed with two children, Pamela and Terry. Dorothy dedicated her life to being a loving wife, devoted mother, and dedicated homemaker, always putting the needs of her family first and foremost. She more recently was a member of New Hope Christian Church where she was active in many ministries and always enjoyed fellowshipping and serving the Lord and others. In her spare time, Dorothy always enjoyed going to the lake with her husband and family where they made so many wonderful memories together. She also had a green thumb and loved to work in her flowerbeds and tending to her gardens. When in Dorothy's presence, everyone was made to feel special and valued. She had a tender and giving heart for those in need, especially when it came to animals and helping strays along the way. She loved spoiling her little furry companions and they all brought her so much joy. Dorothy was very passionate about her pets and they were all members of the family. Dorothy truly loved being with her family and pets whom she loved with all of her heart. Dorothy left a tremendous legacy for us all to follow. She was deeply loved and cherished by all of her family and she will be held close to their hearts each day.
