Obituary

Earnest Dale Johnson, 87, born August 1, 1938, to Carl S. Johnson and Martha Hill in Seminole, Oklahoma and went to be with the Lord,

on May 2, 2026 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

After graduating from Velma-Alma High School and Oklahoma Baptist University, Earnest pursued further studies at Southwestern Theological Seminary. His early years were marked by service in the United States Navy (1956–1962), a time that surely contributed to his disciplined yet quick-witted nature. Following his ordination in 1966, Earnest spent over two decades as a faithful pastor. His ministry eventually took him far beyond the pulpit as he and Sharon followed God’s calling to deliver the Good News to the people of Zimbabwe and Malawi, where they enriched the lives of many.

He is survived by a daughter Elaina (Bryan) Wesel; sons Kendall (Barbara) Johnson, Kevin (Angela) Johnson, Kyson (Elizabeth) Johnson and Jimmy (Alice) Manyanga; granddaughters Sarah (Shawn) Rhea, Candis (Jason) Linscott, Amber (DJ) Neighbors, Paula Jones, and Kaysie Johnson; grandsons Andrew (Melissa) Johnson, Matthew (Jennifer) Johnson, Tommy (Nicole) Jones, Colby Wesel and Jadin Wesel and 22 great grandchildren. Also, sister Geri Aylor, nieces and nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother - Eula Don Johnson, step-father Joe Don Soldowski, loving wife, Sharon, brother-in-law Bob Aylor and daughter-in-law Tara Johnson.

As Earnest entered into the presence of God he heard,

“Well done thou good and faithful servant.”
