Edna Jean Medaris passed away Saturday morning peacefully in her bed. She was born January 29, 1925 to David and Mary (Schiebel) Borger in Saskatchewan, Canada. She graduated from Lorebern high school in 1947. Edna wanted to become a nurse at eight years old and even wrote a paper on her desire to be a nurse for a grade. She attended the Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert Saskatchewan school of nursing and graduated in January 29, 1950. She later attended Winnipeg General Hospital school of nursing, specializing in obstetrics and graduated on July 26 1952. Edna worked in Canada after graduation, then came to the US and worked as a nurse in Columbia, Missouri and also in Florida. She met her husband Wilburn Medaris on a train they later married and settled in Oklahoma City. Edna was very proud that she was a nurse, and always told every nurse and doctor she met, that she was a nurse. She expressed that the nursing care these days we're not up to her standards. As a nurse, she wore the white cap and stood at attention when any doctor entered the room. Her caring spirit and loving heart will be in our memories forevermore. She was preceded in death by her: Parents, David and Mary Borger Husband, Wilburn Horace Medaris. Brother, Albert David Borger, Sister, Ruth Francis Borger.
