Obituary

Edward J. Churchman died April 16, 2011 after a short illness with lung cancer. He was born July 6, 1931 in Kansas City, MO and married Janet Stovall September 7, 1957. Ed served his country in the US Army during the Korean war. He retired from Lee Way Motor Freight and Feed the Children. He was an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Indian Reservation, Montana. He was an active member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church since 1957, where he volunteered on the Parish Council, Board of Education, Catholic Grade School Athletics, Carver Center Community Project, and Saint Vincent De Paul Society. Hobbies he enjoyed were attending grandchildren's athletic and dance events. Ed was an avid OSU fan. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Felicity; brothers Art and Charlie. He will be forever missed by his wife, Janet, his best friend of 53 years, as well as daughters Phyllis Kersey and husband Tim, Elizabeth Davis and husband Shawn, and Angela Williams and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Courtney McKee and husband Jeremy, Phillip Kersey and fiancée Tiara Stewart, Zac Williams, Garrett Davis, Andrew Davis, and Nick Davis; sister, Helen Prilliman; brother, Paul; and numerous relatives and friends. Ed loved God, his family, and his country. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
