Edward Nolan Griffin was born May 4, 1928 and passed away on April 11, 2001 in Frisco, TX. Mr. Griffin was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City but was born in Sand Mountain, TN. He is predeceased by his wife of 73 years Dorothy (Dot) Dimple Griffin.
Mr. Griffin joined the US Army Air Corps, which later became the US Air Force, during WWII and his plane was downed during a flight over Colorado. He was in a full body cast for more than one year. He earned the rank of TSGT and later retired from the United States Air Force. TSGT Griffin was a lifelong member of Odd Fellows where he was on the Honor Guard Team.
He is survived by his son Eddie Griffin, and wife Shirley, of Edmond, OK and a daughter Debby Griffin Bruno, and husband Lewis, of Allen, TX. Mr. Griffin also leaves behind five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be at the Vondel & Smith Mortuary, 13125 N. Mac Arthur Blvd, OKC Saturday, April, 17th from 5 to 7 PM and graveside services, with military honors, will be Sunday, April 18th at 2 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6001 NW Grand Blvd, OKC (for convenience use Pennsylvania Ave entrance)
