Elizabeth Anne "Sissy" Williams was borne unto her next life on June 7 and fell into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ following a brief illness. Elizabeth was born on January 20, 1955 to Bill and LaVera Nakvinda-Williams in Guthrie Oklahoma. She was raised in the Deer Creek Community west of Edmond where she attended 12 years of schooling and graduated a member of the 1973 class. Throughout her schooling she was active and successful in Basketball, Speech, Band, and Student Council. Elizabeth excelled in school deciding in the 2nd grade she would like to grow up to be a nurse and help others. In April of 1976 she gave birth to her only child and in May of 1977 graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with her first Bachelor of Science. She received her cap and pin as a registered nurse and accepted a position with Integris Baptist Hospital in the Neo-Natal Intensive care unit where she worked from 1976 to 1987. From 1978 to 1983, she additionally pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biology at UCO. Liz set out to receive her Master's Degree in Science thinking she would like to teach nursing. Prior to graduation she decided to set her sights on Medical School. She was accepted and completed her medical degree at the University Oklahoma Health Sciences Center graduating as a medical doctor in May 1988. Upon completion of her residence she joined Northwest Anesthesiology became lovingly referred to as Dr. Liz and practiced until her retirement in 2007. Always a giving, loving person she has performed innumerable and untold acts of kindness throughout her life. As a member of Stonegate Presbyterian Church, she served as a Bible Study facilitator and elder. As a writer and historian, she helped to compile, write and publish The History of Deer Creek. As a Daughter of the American Revolution, she became avidly involved in politics during retirement and, along with countless donations, volunteered her time to help facilitate change. She loved her pets, gardening, the Edmond Book Club, the Cambridge Club and watching black and white movies and those that touched the soul. Preceded in death by her parents and grandparents Liz is survived by her only son William "Landon" Brooks, a host of cousins from the Williams side of her family, her lifelong best friend Melissa Peachee Briscoe and Mark Briscoe, Godson Capt. Jason Briscoe, wife Dena, Grant & Kylie Briscoe, Godson Christopher Briscoe, the Integris Baptist nursing community, her medical school module mates, and countless friends she treated just like family.
