Obituary

Ellen "Beth Pratt (Collin) was born November 21, 1949 in Enid, Oklahoma to John and Margaret Collin. After 75 years God called her home to sing with the Angels. Her long fought fight with cancer is over. The eleven years that she had cancer she was very patient and humble. Anyone who sat next to her in church or anywhere that there was singing knew she had a beautiful voice. She received a B.S. Degree in Vocal Music from OSU. She graduated from Enid High School in 1967. She was involved in many activities including singing in the choir, pep club, synchronized swimming team. At OSU she was in pep band and synchronized swimming team. Her greatest hobby was singing any time anyone would like her to sing.

She met her husband to be Paul at the YMCA Camp Classen in the Arbuckle Mountains. They worked together doing many jobs there at the camp. They were married in 1971 for 53 years. They had two children, Shane and Shannon, both had vision problems that Beth worked tirelessly with IEP's and getting the right equipment for school and college. She loved her family dearly.

She loved working with people and trying to help them. She worked for Service Merchandise for many years before they closed. She received the First "Mr. Harry Community Service Award." After leaving Service Merchandise, she started working for the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a Social Worker III, working primarily with children who are developmentally delayed, or have a diagnosis of mental illness. She also is working with her unit as a care coordinator with Systems of Care. She received DHA Employee of the year Special Adaption Award. She was on the board of the Foundation for the Education of the Blind and Visually Impaired. She also served on a committee within her work community volunteering to establish needs and concerns of the people within the area of her town. She was president of Advocates and Parents of the Visually Impaired, and board member of the Oklahoma Counsel of the Blind and Visually Impaired. She has also served as a mentor to other families who have children with visual impairments.

She was a long time member of St James the Greater Catholic Church. She loved to sing and was in the choir for many years. She was a member of St. Teresa Altar Society. She received a plaque from The Holy Father Pope Francis invoking through the intercession of the Virgin Mary an abundance of Divine graces for all the work she did at Church.

She is survived by her brother, John M. Collin, III of Enid; husband, Paul Pratt of OKC; daughter, Shannon Finley and husband James; son, Shane Pratt and wife Felicia; grandchildren: Kaleb, Noah, Elijah, Gabriel & Sweetie her dog.
