Elnora Oakes, 95, of Oklahoma City, passed away on February 1, 2010 when God called our very special, sweet spirited and loving Mother and Me-Ma to Heaven. She was born May 19, 1914 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Archie and Mattie (Smith) Rutherford. Elnora was a very devoted wife, Mother and Me-Ma. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and loved everyone. Just knowing we will see her again and with God's help we will make it through the difficult times ahead. Preceding Elnora in death are: • Her husband, James (Jim) Hollie Oakes; • Daughter, Barbara Jean Spradlin; • Her parents, Archie and Mattie Rutherford; • Brother, Charles Rutherford; • Sisters, Betty Jo Woods and Vera Miller. Elnora is survived by: • Daughter, Sherry Jo Ann Cox and husband Jim of Oklahoma City; • Grandchildren, Billie Jean Embree-Bowers and husband Bob of Oklahoma City, Kaye Kirkes of Harrah, Oklahoma, Kerry Cox of Dallas, Texas, and Kellye Cox of Dallas, Texas; • 4 great grandchildren, Kevin, Chris, Shonna and Josh; • 7 great great grandchildren. Our family would especially like to thank our very close, loving and caring family friend of 55 years, Renee'. She took such wonderful care of Me-Ma. She made her laugh so many times and held her hand during her last few weeks here on earth.
