Obituary

Elva Guillen Aguilar passed away June 25, 2012 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 81. She was born March 4, 1931 to Pedro and Angelita Hernandez Guillen in Piedras Negras, Coah. Mexico. The youngest of six children, she was raised and attended school in Piedras Negras, before moving to the United States at the age of fourteen. She worked in San Antonio and met Nieves R. Aguilar. They married in Rankin TX, in 1954. They moved to San Jose, CA in 1959 where she volunteered at the O'Conner Hospital, and they later moved to Oklahoma City in 1990 where they have since resided. Elva was involved in social work, and fostered children and their families for the Western Heart Association. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband; Nieves R. Aguilar Sr. of the home, her son Nieves Aguilar Jr. and wife Virginia of OKC, and her daughter; Elizabeth Aguilar of OKC, her grandchildren; Adam, Albert, Alex, and Jason, her great-grandchildren; Aidan, and Aubren, her sister; Isabell Sugaki, of Piedras Negras, Mexico, and many nieces, nephews and brother and sister-in-laws and other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church 7336 W. Britton Road, OKC, OK with interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Jude.
