Eric Harris Hermansen passed away on December 17, 2024, at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 80.
Eric was born on February 5, 1944, in Atlanta Georgia to Harris Herman Hermansen and Inez T. (Burger) Hermansen.
Eric received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1968, and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science in 1973. He received both degrees from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas where he was member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Eric attended Oklahoma City University School of Law, graduating with honors in December 1981.
Eric received his attorney license from the Oklahoma Bar Association in May 1982. While attending OCU School of Law, Eric taught Government and Political Science at Oklahoma City Community College. He returned to teaching in the late 2000s for several years. Eric practiced law in the Oklahoma City area for more than 40 years, practicing in several fields of law. He took pride in being an attorney of the people.
Eric enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He could often be seen at his neighborhood Bricktown Brewery or Pub W catching up with friends, talking politics, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Eric will be dearly missed, but he will be remembered by family and friends.
Eric leaves behind three children:
Daughter, Leslie (Hermansen) Howard and husband Mark;
Daughter, Tracey Taylor;
Son, John Hermansen and wife Lacey;
Six grandchildren: Harrison Howard and wife Jenna, Hamilton and Hulen Howard, Brock Owensby, Coree Proctor, and Theodore Hermansen;
Five great grandchildren: Theodore, Winnie, and Boden Howard, Vivian and Victoria Proctor.
As well as many extended loving family members and dear friends.
