IN LOVING MEMORY OF
F.G. "Gail"
Langley
February 25, 1929 – October 15, 2025
F. G. "Gail" Langley
February 25, 1929 – October 15, 2025
F.G. "Gail" Langley passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 96. Gail was born on February 25, 1929, to Lorena (Burdine) and Willis Langley in Mirando City, Texas, the first of two sons. Gail graduated from Robstown High School in Robstown, Texas in 1947 and graduated from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly known as Corpus Christi Junior College, in 1949 with a major in Business Administration.
While working for Continental Emsco in Lindsay, Oklahoma, Gail met a very pretty girl named Betty Spradlin. Gail and Betty were married on March 14, 1953, in Lindsay, Oklahoma. While living in Lindsay their family expanded, Terry Edward was born in 1956, and David Michael was born in 1960. Their family moved to Oklahoma City in 1962, and Gail continued to work for Continental Emsco. In an effort to support his family to the best of his ability, Gail also worked part time in the evenings in the automotive department of the Sears store at SW 44th and Western for many years.
Gail struggled with his vision from a very young age and learned to compensate for this disability. He lost his vision completely in approximately 1985. Gail realized he could no longer drive when he drove his car into a light pole in the Sears parking lot one evening after work. When you met Gail, it would take you a minute to realize he was blind. He continued to wear his glasses and would look directly toward the sound of your voice. The grandkids for years believed he could see as they could never sneak past him as they quietly tried to enter his house and each year at Christmas, he usually correctly guessed the color of gifts given to him.
Gail took an early retirement due to his vision disability and spent time at home helping Betty with housework, tinkering in his 4 storage sheds in the backyard and listening to books on tape. Gail had a gift as he could assist in building carports, handle repairs around the home, give directions to someone else driving and continue to do yard work while unable to physically see.
Gail and Betty shared 48 years together before her passing on June 4, 2001. After Betty passed in 2001, Gail continued to live on his own in the family home until January of 2014 when his health began to fail and he was unable to stay there any longer. At that time, he moved to Willow Creek Health Care in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Thanks to the excellent care he received from their staff, his life was extended by many years.
Gail was preceded in death by his parents (Lorena and Willis), his brother (Don), his wife (Betty) and his son (Terry).
He leaves behind his son, David Langley and wife, Rhonda, daughter-in-law, Pam Langley, grandchildren – Patrick Langley, Sean Langley, Chase Langley (Ashley), Shannon Ohmann (Mitch), Paige Langley, and Payton Langley. Great-grandchildren – Jaxen Langley, Bennett Ohmann, Hendrix Langley, Bowen Ohmann, Xavier and Beatrix Rudkin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gail was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.
