Frances (Fran) Marie Potter, age 88, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and friend, departed this earth to her heavenly home on April 1, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Fran is survived by her sons, David Rider (wife Emilie) and Cole Potter (wife Chee Wei); her beloved grandchildren, Ryan Rider, Julie Rider, Leah Rider, and Lauren Potter; great-grandchild, Kade Rider; and lifelong friend, Emily Bradshaw.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Potter; her parents, Roy and Cordia Madden; her brothers, Cecil Madden, Charles Madden and Rosco Madden; and her sisters, Louise Sartor and Elaine Owen.
Fran was born on January 9, 1936, in Oklahoma City to Roy and Cordia Madden. Even though Fran was the baby of the family, she earned the respect of everyone with her unwavering love and nurturing personality.
On July 3, 1970, Fran married Bob Potter and together, they owned and operated a full-service bridal salon and photography studio for almost two decades, where they helped create everlasting memories through wedding planning, catering, and photography. Fran was married to Bob for 52 years before his passing in 2022.
Fran finished her career as a docket clerk at the Oklahoma City Federal Court House and retired after 24 years of service in 2009. She loved working there and met many lifelong friends along the way.
In retirement, Fran loved shopping and visiting with friends and family, and busied herself by caring for everyone around her. Fran occasionally planned large weekend dinner gatherings to bring her family together and enjoy her delicious Southern cooking with great company.
Fran, a devout Christian, loved God and sought to serve and honor Him in every way; she enjoyed attending church for Sunday school and service.
Passionate about life and family, Fran's unconditional love and care for friends and family are unmatched; she loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She will be genuinely missed, and the ones she leaves behind will never forget their time with her.
