Obituary

Franklin "Frank" D. Godwin went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday , August 10 , 2021 at the age of 88.

Frank was born in Caryville, Florida on January 3, 1933, the seventh child of John M. And Lonnie (Hammond) Godwin.

Soon after graduating from high school Frank joined the US Air Force on September 5, 1951. Frank served in many different locations during his career from Tampa Florida to Thule, Greenland and finally retired in Oklahoma City at Tinker AFB as a Management Engineer on September 30, 1971. Following Frank's Air Force career he worked at Sears Roebuck and Company as a large appliance salesman. He retired after 20 years on January 30,1992.

Frank and Sue Shook married on April 6, 1962 while Frank was serving at Holloman AFB, NM. They were married 59 years and were blessed with two sons, Gregory S. and Guy P. who joined their brother Paul in always bringing excitement, joy and happiness into their home.

Frank enjoyed several hobbies such as fast pitch softball, bowling, golf and woodworking. Frank built many of the wood pieces of furniture that are in their home today.

Frank loved spending time with his family every opportunity he had. No one was loved more than his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife Sue Godwin, his son Paul W. Tisdale and wife Rebekah, son Gregory S. Godwin and wife Melissa and son Guy P. Godwin. Frank's grandchildren include Tara Forgie and husband Andrew, Sara Sparhawk and husband Dustin, Gregory P. Godwin and wife Sarah , Brooke Pritt, and husband Nathanael, Brittney Saiz and husband Steve II, Austin B. Godwin and wife Skylar, Winston P. Godwin, Enrique Figueroa, Jose Sanchez, Evan Sanchez and Ethan Sanchez.

Frank is also survived by five great grandchildren , Eli Sparhawk, Cole Sparhawk, Jake Forgie, Everett Pritt, Layla Godwin and soon arriving Raylan Saiz.
