Robert F. (Fred) Birney, 62, passed away on August 7, 2010. He was born on April 18, 1948 in Ponca City to Robert & Mary Birney. He married Janice A. Saunders on November 3, 1969. Fred owned and operated Oklahoma Corrugated Box Co. in OKC for 24 years. Fred enjoyed boating at Lake Texoma and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Brooklynn Birney. He is survived by sisters, Harriette Cornelson, Deborah Kelly, and Marilyn Dillon; his wife, Jan; sons, Robert L. Birney (Amber), Anthony P. Birney (Shannon); grandchildren, Morgan, Aiden, Brady and Brynlee Birney. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm today at Vondel Smith & Sons Mortuary at South Lakes with the family receiving guests from 5-7 pm. Services will be Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Vondel Smith and Sons Mortuary at South Lakes, 4000 S.W. 119th with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
