Freddie Glen "Crowbar" Garrison
February 2, 1947 ~ August 1, 2021

Freddie Glen Garrison went riding off into the sunset on his final ride up to Heaven on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the age of 74. The son of C.B. and Leatha (Biles) Garrison, Fred was born on February 2, 1947 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. His father nicknamed him "Crowbar" after a character from T.V. show "Ma and Pa Kettle" and Fred proudly carried that nickname throughout the course of his life. Fred grew up attending schools in the Oklahoma City area and graduated from Southeast High School in 1965. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and honorably served his country as an engineer during the Vietnam Conflict. Fred married his one true love, Gail Bowers and together shared many wonderful years of marriage, traveling, taking cruises and sharing all kinds of experiences and adventures together. His bags were always packed, unpacked and repacked ready to go weeks before for the next big cruise date. In addition to being a loving husband, devoted father and doting grandfather, Fred also worked as a machinist for in the oil and gas industry for many years. He worked at Industrial Rubber in OKC until his retirement when he turned 62 years old. Fred was very passionate about being outdoors and enjoying all the wonderful adventures it had to offer. He loved riding motorcycles, especially on the back of his Harley Davidson Street Bob which was "his baby" out riding on the open road. Crowbar, as he was known by the motorcycle community, enjoyed attending many different bike rallies and was always happy to grill rib-eye steaks for the motorcycle group. He also loved going hunting for deer, elk and turkey. He was a longtime member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and was a judge at turkey calling competitions. Fred lived life in a big way, all the while enjoying all it had to offer and making the most of his opportunities and adventures. He had a big heart and he loved all with it. He cared deeply for his family, friends and nature. He will continue to live on through us and be held close to our hearts each day.
