Frederick Earl Walker ("BIG FRED") was born on February 1, 1977, in Omaha, Nebraska. Fred matriculated at Fairview Elementary, West Junior High, and Westmoore High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He played little league baseball and football in elementary and junior high school and both football and basketball in high school.

Although BIG FRED towered over most people and maintained a strong physique, he was a sweet teddy bear who had the most beautiful smile especially when he was cooking. Growing up in the kitchen at his mother's side, Fred was inquisitive and eager to learn. His passion led him to Platt College in Oklahoma City where he earned an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts and Chef Training. BIG FRED knew no one could rival him in the kitchen—not even Chef Gordon Ramsay. He once said that he could smoke anyone who had a Traeger griller with a Fisher-Price stove. It was this type of bantering that brought Fred and others so much joy. After many years of working in hospitality and even a modeling stint in Chicago, Fred moved to Salem, Oregon, where he discovered acting and worked as a real estate agent for Gysin Realty Group and Keller Williams Realty until his passing on October 22nd, 2021.

Fred leaves to cherish his memory his father Ward Walker and brother Chadrick Walker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, his companion Janice Sivers of Salem, Oregon, and a strong and mighty village of family and friends all around the country. Fred was preceded in death by his mother Ida Walker.

Fred was private and kept to himself at times. But food energized him. He could talk for hours about taste, texture, color, and preparation. When it was time for family reunions or gatherings with friends, Fred was always ready to bless those willing to try something new and amazing with a rich, tender, and tasty meal. He was never shy about sharing his dream of elevating their palettes beyond the simple to the extraordinary—which only he could prepare. BIG FRED was a culinary visionary, legendary character, one-of -a- kind competitor, and a kind-hearted and attractive gentleman with an infectious smile, courageous spirit, and a deep love and adoration for his family and friends. Fred ate more great food, spent more time in the gym, and made more friends than most people ever will. He will be missed.
