Freeda, 92, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 8, 2015. She was born Sept. 19, 1922 in Anson, TX, to John Marion & Candis (Sims) Dubose. She married the love of her life, William E. "Gene" Martin, Sr., & together they created a loving home for their family. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist, then Metropolitan Baptist, & currently Southern Hills Baptist . She enjoyed cooking for the church, & especially working with the children teaching Sunday school, and helping with vacation bible school. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Freeda was preceded in death by her: her parents; infant son, Travis Lee; infant great granddaughter Paige Linster; & daughter, Paula, She is survived by her: she is survived by her husband of 73 years, Gene; sons, William "Bill" Jr. & wife, Kay, Gerald & wife, Nancy; daughter, Frances Harrison & husband, Jimmy; sister, Candis Viola Smith of Fredrick, MD; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; & 1 great-great grandchild.
