Our beloved mother passed away on Friday, April 29 at her Oklahoma City home in Village on the Park. Gay Larimore Hicks was born on December 25, 1937 in Custer County (Canute), OK to Chester Awood Larimore and Audrey Estelene (Murdock) Larimore.

After enjoying her childhood years on the farm, Gay married Neal Finlay Blount on June 7, 1953. Four children were born of their union: Debra, Trina, Terry, and Tim. After a time in Pampa, TX and Gardenia, CA, their family eventually relocated to the OKC metro area in 1955.

On December 31, 1985 she married Troy Hicks. Although their time together was brief, they enjoyed almost five wonderful years together until his death.

Gay knew the meaning and value of hard work. She helped support her family over the years, serving as a secretary for the City of OKC, owning and running an employment agency, working as a secretary for an oil company, and finally returning to the City of OKC's Engineering Department, from where she retired on December 31, 1999.

She loved traveling and especially loved collecting rocks along the way. In line with her adventurous spirit, Gay received her scuba diving certification at the age of 55! At home, she worked tirelessly in her garden tending her flowers. In quiet times, she loved reading and listening to music, especially Andrea Bocelli.

Above all, Gay loved her family, and their time together was paramount in her life. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Gay was preceded in death by her husband Troy Hicks on November 16, 1990; her daughter Debra on September 27, 2015; and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Trina Hunter and husband Jerry of OKC, OK; son Terry Blount and wife Louise of Hutto, TX; son Tim Blount of OKC, OK; sister Janette Hodges of Katy, TX; and brother Larry Larimore and wife Vicki of Newcastle, OK. Gay is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Hunter of OKC, OK; Craig Hunter of Edmond, OK; and Kaitlyn Hunter of OKC, OK; Terry Blount, Jr. and wife Danielle of Wichita, KS; Audrey Norton and husband Josiah of Norman, OK; Nate Walker of Austin, TX; Olivia Tempelmeyer and husband Matt of Tulsa, OK; and Cameron Walker and wife Yessenia of Dayton, OH; and Kimberly Presley and husband Michael of Crowder, OK. Great grandchildren include Daxton and Zoe Blount of Wichita, KS; Elijah, Eevee, and Isaac Norton of Norman, OK; and Xavier and Jaxon Presley of Crowder, OK.
