IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Geneva Joann
Albright
July 2, 1929 – July 15, 2024
Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother left this life to meet her Lord on Monday, July 15, 2024 at the age of 95. Geneva "Joann" Albright was born on a farm in Covington, Oklahoma to John Arthur Fischer and Bertha Hannah Fischer on July 2, 1929. She was a "farm girl" until her marriage to Burnard "Duane" Albright on July 12, 1947. They lived in Enid, Oklahoma and lived there until 1950 when they relocated to Oklahoma City.
Joann was a dedicated, born again Christian and a charter member of Mayridge Baptist Church. She served faithfully in this church for many years as a Sunday School teacher of children and a teacher for VBS. She helped cook many meals for church functions and helped with the "Prime-Timers."
She was a wonderful, loving mother and a fabulous seamstress. She was always sewing fabulous new outfits for her two daughters. In her later years, she loved reading devotional books, working puzzles and watching sports (whatever was in season) on her TV.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Duane Albright in November 2014; father, John Arthur Fischer; mother, Bertha Hannah Fischer; brother, Walter Fischer; sister, June Fakan; brother, Maurice Fischer; and brother, Don Fischer.
She is survived by her two daughters: Sharon Teague (husband, Dennis) of OKC and Shirly Young (husband, Ron) of OKC; 4 grandchildren: Janis Haupt (husband, Rob) of Middletown, Maryland; Greg Teague of OKC; Kara Ross (husband, David) of OKC; and Kelli Matherly (husband, Brad) of OKC; 7 great grandchildren: Zachary Teague, Ayden Matherly, Kaid Ross, Brilyn Ross, Tyler Haupt, Zoie Matherly and Madison Haupt; sister, Beverly Warren (husband, John) of Covington, OK; brother, Lloyd Fischer of Enid, OK; and many, many friends.
Joann will be greatly missed by many. "Blessed is she who believes and trusts in the Lord."
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mayridge Baptist Church, 4617 S. May Ave, OKC, OK 73119.
Viewing at the funeral home will be 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
