Obituary

Geneva Lauree Beall, age 99, passed away on April 14, 2020 in Wichita KS. She was born October 20, 1920 to James (Jim) McAdoo and Stella Palestine Cable McAdoo in Fletcher OK. She graduated from Cyril High School. She went to cosmetology school in Anadarko and earned her certificate. However, Southwestern Bell offered her a higher paying job as an operator. She had dated Ellis Beall, but he moved to Presido TX as a border patrolman. Then he joined the Marines. He called her from Camp Pendleton and proposed to her. She took a train to California and they were married in La Jolla California on July 3, 1943 before he shipped out for the South Pacific. She returned to Oklahoma and her job with Southwestern Bell. They moved to Corpus Christi TX after the war where Sharon was born. They moved back to Fletcher, then to Duncan. They were charter members of Parkview Baptist Church in Duncan. She went back to work for Southwestern Bell in 1953 and retired in 1978. She was a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Ellis on May 15, 2009 just short of their 66th anniversary; her parents; 3 brothers, Alvoid, Clarence, and Glenn; and 3 sisters, Nila Milsap, Nina Brock, and Athalee (Toots) Kaser. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Edwards & husband Billy of Wichita KS; her grandson Chris Edwards & wife Kim of Salina KS; 4 great-grandsons Brandon, Casey, and Cooper Edwards, and Cameron Preble all of Salina KS; and 2 great-granddaughters, Madyson Preble of Salina KS, and Breanna Golden of Wichita KS. The family would especially like to thank the staffs of Family Health & Rehab and Serenity Hospice. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
