April 11, 1938 – January 22, 2025
George Franklin Myers, Jr. went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the age of 86. The son of Norma Elora Russell and George Franklin Myers, Sr., George was born April 11, 1938 in Cushing, Oklahoma. George was raised by his grandparents from the age of 6 years old. After graduation from Bethany High School, George went to work for Amis Construction for 30 years and CL Boyd John Deere Construction for 21years until his retirement in 2005. He served in the Air National Guard for 2 years. George married Patti Lula Medlock and they spent 41 happy years together. He was the most wonderful Christian man. In his spare time, George's hobbies included gardening and cheering on the OU Sooners. George was an avid snow skier, winning numerous medals over the years in Competition Skiing. He served as the President of the Oklahoma Ski Club. And he volunteered at the 1989 Olympics. Although he was not a man of many words, George was a big-hearted, caring man who always put the needs of others before himself. George always looked out for his family. He will be deeply missed. He meant the world to his wife and all his family.
He was preceded in death by his:
Mother, Norma E. (Russell) Myers;
Father, George F. Myers, Sr.;
Loving grandparents, George and Belle Myers;
Son, Stephen Terry Myers;
Sister, Judy Lewis;
Brothers, Jim Myers and Bill Myers;
Father-in-law, John Medlock;
Mother-in-law, Patsy Medlock;
Sister-in-law, Mary Medlock;
Brother-law, Johnny Medlock.
He is survived by his:
Loving wife of 41 years, Patti Medlock Myers;
Half-brother, Gary Thomas;
Several nieces and nephews who were near and dear to his heart.
