Gertrude Genevieve Girod, 85, entered eternal rest on February 7, 2026. She was born January 21, 1941, in New York City to John and Helen (Devine) Tully. Gertrude earned her bachelor's degree in French and dedicated many years to serving others as an educator. She married Royce Dean Girod, and together they raised three children, building a life centered on faith, family, and service. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and her family, and she found great joy in volunteering in the community, traveling the world with her husband, and spending time with loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Jennifer. She is survived by her husband, Royce Dean Girod; son, Michael Girod and wife Valerie; daughter, Kerry Girod; and four grandchildren, Lucy Girod, Ellie Girod, Elsie Fedha, and Ashley Fedha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 13, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 4201 S. McKinley Ave. with burial to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
