Obituary

Glen Smith passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the age of 95. The son of James Harvey and Nancy Alice (Bean) Smith, Glen was born January 23, 1926 in St. Louis, Oklahoma. Glen played AAA Baseball as a pitcher and was a lover of Baseball his entire life. He left baseball to honorably serve his country in the United States Army. After the Army and Professional Baseball, he joined Wilson Foods as a truck driver and pitcher for the Wilson Foods Industrial league baseball team. He married the love of his life, Barbara in 1953. Together as one in everything they did, this was a marriage of 53 years of unfailing love, respect and gratitude for each other. They had a son, Robert L. Smith, and a daughter, Paula Smith. Being a loving husband and devoted father, Glen provided for his family working as a truck driver delivering for Wilson Foods for more than 40 years. Glen's true happiness in life was sports. Glen was known for his sense of humor and love of family. Glen demonstrated a competitive spirit when it came to sports and loved playing golf. Glen left a tremendous work ethic and extended family that will continue to live on through each of us and he will forever be held close in our hearts each day.

He was preceded in death by his:

Parents;

Wife of 53 years, Barbara Smith;

And eleven siblings.

Glen leaves behind his loving family:

Son, Robert L Smith and his wife, Karen of Austin, Texas;

Daughter, Paula Smith, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;

Granddaughter, Mallory K. Smith;

Sister, Ruth Wilson;

Several nieces, nephews and cousins;

As well as many other extended family and friends.

Viewing will be 4-8 PM Monday, August 2, 2021 with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 6934 S Western Ave OKC, OK. Services to celebrate and honor his life will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Vondel Smith & Son Mortuary's South Colonial Chapel, 6934 S Western Ave with burial following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
