Glenda went to be with her Lord on Sunday May 9, 2021 and was undoubtedly reunited with her loving husband, Jack. Glenda was born in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1939. She was raised in both southern California and Oklahoma City by her loving parents, Edmund and Clara (Gibson) Cleveland. Glenda graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1957.
In 1958 Glenda married the love of her life, Jack Huffman, in Oklahoma City. They were blessed with two daughters, Jacqueline and Kelli. Glenda and Jack raised their family in South OKC and they both worked hard to support their daughters and dreams. Glenda worked for the India Shrine for 50 years and she made many wonderful memories and friendships during her time with the Shriners.
Glenda loved her family, and her granddaughters and later great-grandchildren brought immense joy to her life. In 2017, Glenda lost her beloved husband, Jack. She held tight to her family and friends after this, and we believe that by her passing on Jack's birthday, it's a sign that they were beautifully reunited in heaven with a big, joyous, social occasion.
She had a special knack for seeing the best in people, and her favorite thing to do was to push her loved ones to their potential. Glenda loved interior decorating, gardening, reading horoscopes, and playing bunco. She was an avid traveler and loved seeing all that the world had to offer. She taught us many important lessons in life, including but not limited to: how to hang wallpaper, when and where the best clearance sales are, how not to cook a roast, why you shouldn't leave candles lit overnight, how to take over a restaurant when there are 42 hungry women and children on a bus and the cook just walked out, and that if you pay taxes you can drive however you want. Glenda also taught us how important friendships are and that of all the finer things in life, girlfriends are the most important to collect. Most of all, she taught us how to be confident, authentic, fearless women who know how to create whatever life they want.
Even though she is no longer here on this earth, her memory will live on through the legacy she left with her family and friends.
