IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Fox
April 2, 1932 – February 12, 2024
Grover Franklin Fox
"Dobie" ~ "Pops"
April 2, 1932 ~ February 12, 2024
Grover Franklin Fox, fondly known as "Dobie" and "Pops" by his family and friends, made his way peacefully into Heaven in the early morning hours of Monday, February 12, 2024. He was 91 years old. The son of Nancy Nellie (Childress) and Curtis Walker Fox, he was born April 2, 1932 in Hobart, Oklahoma. Dobie married the love of his life, Betty Sue Scarberry on April 6, 1950 and they started their family in January of 1952. Dobie then went on to serve our country in the United States Army from 1953-1961. After his military service, Dobie worked as a civilian at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement in 1987. During his many years on this earth, Dobie spent many days and evenings, while raising their children, within the walls of Southside Church. He was a man of God who was always willing to talk with you, pray with you, laugh with you, or lend a helping hand. After his retirement, Dobie filled his time with family, old cowboy shows, reading every book ever written by Louis L'Amour and keeping his mind sharp with word-search puzzles. In later years – if you were laughing, Dobie was laughing with you – but he had likely not heard a word you just said. "Pops" was definitely considered one of a kind! He loved his family like no other. Every person that knew him loved him and every person that was loved by him should consider themselves blessed beyond measure. He was loved and will be missed by so many.
