Obituary

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. James Catholic Church.

Harold Anthony "Bud" Brooks passed away on July 9, 2022, in Lindsay, OK. Born in Oklahoma City, on August 19, 1946, he attended Mount St. Mary High School and graduated from U.S. Grant High School. Bud went on to attend Oklahoma City Community College and OSU-OKC. In 1968 he met the love of his life, Patricia Brooks, when he was shadowing a police officer for the day. Bud and the officer came to her residence to arrest her for warrants due to unpaid traffic tickets. Patricia and Bud soon married in 1969 and had many adventures together. They built a wonderful life over the next 50 years filled with loving family and friends.

Bud was a man of many talents who could fix anything from old wrecked cars to air conditioning. He was an entrepreneur and owned and operated Brooks Mechanical Contractors for a decade. He retired as Facilities Manager from Oklahoma City Public Schools in 2012, where he was tasked with installing and updating air conditioning for all OKCPS schools. He was also a certified SCUBA instructor.

With a big smile and a love for his family, he could always be found entertaining the kids at family gatherings with a funny joke or a goofy trick or taking photos to capture joyous moments. He was a generous man who consistently gave to others.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Clemens Raymond Brooks and Ruth Elizabeth Brooks; his wife, Sally Patricia Jimenez -Brooks, and son, David Brooks.

He is survived by his sister Kathy Brooks of Oklahoma City; his children Michael Brooks and wife, Jessica; daughter Rebecca Lane and husband, David; Aimee Russell and husband, Kristofer, all of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren: Joshua Brooks, Dustin Brooks, Michael Joaquin Brooks, Lucy Brooks, Sarah Jones and husband, Hunter, Isabella Olandese and husband, Aaron, Savannah Lane, Nathan Lane, Zachary Roebuck, Allison Roebuck and Madeline Russell; and one great grandson, Isaiah.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lindsay Manor Nursing Home for all of their loving care over the years.
