Harvey Leroy Jenkins, 67, passed away on January 13, 2022. He was born in Oklahoma City to John and Mary Elizabeth (Burcham) Jenkins on July 20, 1954. He graduated from Southeast High School. When Harvey was 19 years old, he went to work at Dayton Tire and retired after 30 years of being a loyal employee.
Harvey married the love of his life Mary Maynard Williams on December 16, 1980. They each brought two children from previous marriages and together they raised a wonderful, blended family. He was a devoted husband, father and papa whose children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of the home, Mary who resides in Newcastle, as well as four children, Brandi and Eric Dudley of Moore; Ami Talbot of Moore; Jason Williams of Oklahoma City and Brooke and Kyle Duncan of Bridge Creek. He leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren, Wyatt, Emery and Lillian Dudley; Tanner and Brianna Talbot and Zerek and Zayden Williams.
Harvey and Mary enjoyed taking trips on the Harley Davidson, gardening, and spending time together.
Harvey had numerous adventures and memories with his lifelong best friend, David Brantley, whom he considered his brother. Harvey had a major passion for maintaining his yard and he enjoyed spending time with the best neighbors ever, Rick and Debbie Evans. He was a loyal and dedicated friend, who never met a stranger and would do anything in his power to help those around him.
Harvey enjoyed numerous outdoor activities with his family and friends including his Harleys, coaching little league, water skiing, camping, hunting, fishing, family cookouts, his golf cart, and tinkering in his barn.
Later in his life, Harvey became an avid cat lover and devoted pet parent. He loved to give his cat Jenxie, rides on the golf cart and could often be found napping with his three cats.
Everyone who met Harvey left with a smile on their face and laugh in their heart. He loved to make people laugh by telling countless jokes and stories.
His most famous saying is "I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but if I were you…"
He will be greatly missed by his family and numerous friends.
