Obituary

Hazel Viola Luton, 81, was born December 4, 1929, in LeFlore County, OK. She died November 21, 2011, at the Lakes Care Center in Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Poteau High School in 1947. While working at the Poteau Drug Store she met and married Charles Vernon Luton. They moved to Shawnee, OK, where she lived for 58 years. She was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She worked for the City of Shawnee for many years until she retired at age 65. She was preceded in death by Charles Vernon Luton and son DeWayne Luton. She is survived by daughters, Donna Rapp and Cheryl Clayton both of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Trey Rapp of Orlando, FL; Melaina Brunk of Edmond, OK; Dr. Kelli Lovelace of Broken Arrow, OK; Lacy Clayton of Bethany, OK; Lauren McGeehee of the Village, OK; and seven great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who love her. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 28, 2011 at Vondel L. Smith & Son North Colonial Chapel with Graveside services at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee, OK. Memorial contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, Norman, OK.
