Helen Marie Greene, 87, of OKC, joined her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 28, 2010. Helen was born July 16, 1922 in Marlin, TX to Michael & Julia (Bulgawicz) Kubiak. A devout Catholic, Helen felt her calling at the young age of 15 & entered the Convent of Villa Teresa to become a Nun. The course of Helen's life changed direction when she met the love of her life, Lawrence Greene. They were married on Nov. 23, 1939 & for the next 70 years, Helen was a loving, supportive wife, mother & grandmother, who dedicated her life to providing a loving home & raising her sons & grandchildren. Her countless hours of support & encouragement helped make, the family business, G & R Auto Parts the success it is today. A member of St. Joseph Old Cathedral in Oklahoma City, Helen adored, loved & served her God & family wholeheartedly, living each day with unwavering faith, a prayerful spirit for family & others, & praying The Rosary daily. Helen has left a legacy of love, family & living an exemplary lifestyle. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Al Kubiak, Harry Kubiak & Paul Skarpinski; & sister, Pauline Ballard. She leaves cherished memories with her
husband, Lawrence; sons, Alan Greene & wife Sharon, who she embraced as her own, Larry Greene & wife Jan; brother, Buddy Kubiak; sister, Irene Ruppert; 4 grandchildren: Lawrence Greene, III & wife Patti, Sherri Greene, Greg Greene & wife Katie, & Julie Malicott & husband Mike; 8 great grandchildren, Helen, Mary, David, Nathan & Campbell Greene, Gracie, Kaitlyn & Austin Malicott; as well as nieces, nephews, other loving relatives & countless friends. Viewing will be Thursday from 4-8 PM. Rosary & Prayer Service will be from 4-4:30 PM Thursday at Vondel Smith South Lakes, 4000 SW 119th, OKC. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday at St. Joseph Old Cathedral 307 N. W. 4th OKC. Interment will follow at St. Teresa's Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to extend a thank you to all of the health care providers at Legend Assisted Living, Excel Home Care & Hospice, Helen's doctors & their staff for the care they provided. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Discalced Carmelite Monastery of St. Joseph, 20000 N. County Line Rd. Piedmont, OK 73078.
