Helen Kay (Vorse) Hubbard passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2023 at the age of 78 years, 4 months, and 5 days. She was born on September 25, 1944 in Lawson, Missouri to Alden and Kathryn Vorse. She was the 4th of 10 children. She moved to Oklahoma City following her high school graduation where she met and married the love of her life, Russell Gerald Hubbard. They built a life together, raised 5 daughters, and celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2022. Miss Helen was a lifelong Girl Scout, leading numerous troops throughout her years. She received many awards honoring her contributions to Girl Scouts. She also volunteered at her daughters' and grandchildren's schools, serving as Homeroom Parent, volunteering in the library and computer lab, helping in the PTA and serving as PTA President several times at different schools. She gave freely of her time to help at church functions and to teach Vacation Bible School for many years. Helen loved to be involved and loved helping others. She leaves a legacy of love and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her:
Parents, Alden and Kathryn Vorse;
Brothers, Tom Vorse and John Vorse.
She is survived by her:
Husband, Russell Hubbard of the home;
Daughter, April Nordstrom of Moore, OK;
Daughter, Geraldine Southern and husband, Curtis of Atoka, OK;
Daughter, Janet Deilami and partner Joshua Vera of Oklahoma City
Daughter, Sara Hubbard of Arkadelphia, Arkansas;
Daughter, Laura Hubbard of Moore, OK;
Grandchildren: Lindsay Sharp and husband, Aaron of Norman, OK; Chelsea Nordstrom of Moore, OK; Courtney Gunn and husband, Chris of Powderly, Texas; Alexander Southern and wife, Kara of Pottsboro, Texas, Darien Deilami and partner Alyssa Deilami of Sulphur, OK and Julia Hoffman of Yukon, OK;
Great-Grandchildren: Olivia Gunn, Gauge Gunn, Emily Sharp, Kegan Deilami, Russell Hoffman, and Gracie Sharp;
Siblings: Francee Hays, George Vorse, Mike Vorse, Patti Hammel, Pamela Favors, Aldenea Hammel, and Kathy Snyder;
As well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, family and many dear friends.
