Helen, 87, was born in Okarche, OK to Paul and Lena Rohr Rischard on April 14, 1928. She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School until her family moved to OKC in 1943. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School and Draughn Business School. After a long and productive career as an inventory management specialist at Tinker Air Force Base, Helen retired in 1987 following more than 35 years of dependable service and having made many life-long friends. She was a charter member of the Midwest City Chapter of the American Business Women's Association, many times serving as its President and being recognized as its Woman of the Year. In retirement Helen later served with the ABWA's Heartland Chapter in OKC. Helen was a dedicated parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 73 years (from her family's arrival in OKC) and was loved by her pastors as well as her fellow parishioners with whom she so faithfully served in various roles, including Parish Council, Alter Society and weekly collection counting. She was a Eucharistic Minister and generously supported her parish even up through the time of her passing. Helen was a devoted and loyal daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend, who had a special place in her heart for children of all ages and those who were most in need of special consideration. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Al Rischard, sisters Eleanor Nokes, Philamena & Elizabeth Rischard, and she is survived by her brothers Bill (and wife Kay)and Joe Rischard and sisters Cathy Hester, Mary Piper and Agnes Rischard and a special sister-in-law Juanita Rischard, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Gifts in Helen's memory may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church (OKC). Rosary service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the South Colonial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM Friday, May 8, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2706 S. Shartel Ave. Friends may leave condolences for the family on this page.
