IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen Leona
Rogers
September 30, 1946 – September 2, 2012
Helen Leona Rogers went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2012. She was born on September 30, 1946 in Chickasha, OK to Delbert and Helen (McMillin) McCurley. Leona was raised on the corner of 52nd and Byers in OKC. She attended elementary school at Jefferson Davis and graduated from Southeast High School in 1964. Leona married Randall on April 29, 1966. Randall and Leona settled in Blanchard in 1976 where Leona drove a school bus for Blanchard Public Schools. Leona later retired from OU Medical Center as an Administrative Assistant. Leona enjoyed sewing, crocheting, scrap booking, and making quilts for friends and family. Leona was lovingly known as Granny to her grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them and the places they traveled to over the years. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Helen McCurley; 2 brothers, Raymond and Jerry; and daughter-in-law, Cristy Rogers. Leona is survived by Randall Rogers of the home; son, Trevor and wife Darlene of Crescent, OK and Wade of Blanchard, OK; grandchildren, Landon Belt, Justin Rogers, Tyler Belt, Mallory Rogers, Meredith Rogers, Austin Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Joshua Rogers, and Stefanie Tate; great grandchildren, Emerson Belt, Isaac Belt, and Kayden Wilson; brother, David; 2 sisters, Jean and Charlotte; 3 nieces; and 7 nephews.
Granny's laughter was contagious and her sense of humor was loved by many. Leona was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed deeply. Leona gave her heart to Jesus in 1976 at the Baptist Church in Jones. Love knows no yesterday or tomorrow; No flood or ebb, No beginning or end…For love never changes. May you cherish the love that remains in your heart forever. Funeral services will be Wed., Sept. 5, 2012 at 10 AM in the chapel of Vondel Smith Mortuary South with burial to follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
