Helene Elaine Rekieta, 73, passed away January 21, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born in Hawthorne, California on August 20, 1950 to Anna Mae and Austin Little. She married August Joseph "AJ" Rekieta on August 14, 1971 in Torrance, California. From their union they had two children: Tony and Jennifer.
Helene was a homemaker and her love language was her generosity. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She also spent many hours sewing and making crafts. Christmas was her favorite, she collected Santa Claus and Snowmen. Every year she picked out Disney or Hallmark ornaments to gift her children. It became a yearly tradition; so much so, there are probably enough ornaments to decorate several trees in the home. She found peace in nature even though the sun was not her friend. Being a fair skinned red head, she burned too easily but loved to watch the world outside. Helene mainly loved being with her family and especially spoiling her great nieces and nephews, Landin and Andi. Any event the kids had, Helene would show up and cheer them on.
Helene was preceded in death by her parents and step mother, Rita Little. She is survived by her, husband of 53 years, AJ Rekieta; son, Tony Rekieta; daughter, Jennifer Rekieta; brother, Richard Little; sisters, Margaret Little, Donna Little and Jackie Little; brother in law, David Rekieta; Nieces and nephews, Rikki Mac, Jason Beach, Kristen Ferry, Sean Ferry, Teresa Judkins and husband, Shawn, Brian Little and wife, Amy, John Austin and Wylie; special great niece and nephews, Landin and Andi Judkins; half-sister Jamie Boykin; as well as many extended family and numerous friends. She will be greatly missed and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
