Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024 at Fresh Start Community Church in Moore, OK (309 Eastern Ave Moore, OK).
Viewing will be on Tuesday, May 14th from 4-8 pm, with the family present to greet friends from 6-8 pm.
Henry Donald Storie 92 years old, passed away on May 9, 2024 after a short stay in the hospital. His legal birth certificate says he was born on March 1, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK to Grady Storie and Bessie Martin Storie, but actually he was born late in the evening of February 29, 1932. He was 3rd youngest of 7 children.
Don joined the Navy in 1951 and served until 1954. After serving in the Navy, he returned home to Oklahoma City. He was introduced to the love of his life Dorotha Jewel Hicks by 2 of his older sisters. They married on August 15, 1955 and have 2 sons, Curtis Wayne and Henry Donald, Jr.
Don is preceded in death by parents, his wife, Dorotha; daughter in law Jamie Storie and 6 siblings. He is survived by his son Curtis and wife Leslie; son Donald and wife Sheila; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of relatives.
Don worked at several jobs until he settled in as a glazier working the longest for Allied Glass. After retirement he started a part time business working on residential windows and doors. He was very dependable and was called on by family and friends when things needed to be repaired.
Don was a devoted husband and father. He became a Christian later in life. For many years he attended Capitol Hill Church of God and currently attended Fresh Start Community Church in Moore. He loved to bowl, fish, and hunt and loved spending time with family and friends. He was often referred by his nieces and nephews as their "favorite uncle". He would often call and speak to his friends and family on a regular basis.
