Herman Lee Wheeler, was born September 17, 1930 in Ashland, Kentucky to William and Fannie Wheeler and passed away January 12, 2010 at the age of 79. He grew up in Kentucky and moved to Oklahoma as a teenager where he worked in his uncle's grocery store and met his wife Ophelia Cofer whom he married July 25, 1949. Herman worked as a butcher in the commissary at Tinker Air Force Base for 25 years before retiring in 1995. He was a Mason and member of the Myrtle Lodge. Herman is preceded in death by: • His parents, William and Fannie Wheeler; • Brothers, Bill, Jack and Jim; • One sister, Georgene McAllister. He is survived by: • His wife, Ophelia of the home; • Sons, Steve and wife Denice Wheeler of Tuttle, and Robert Wheeler of Moore; • Grandchildren, Kelly Sheriff, Stephanie Sharp, Jennifer Wheeler and Robert Wheeler; • Great grandchildren, Major Sharp, Peyton and McKenzie Wheeler, Maddie and Chloe Sheriff and Heston Nelson.
