Ned was raised and educated in Gordon County, Georgia. Immediately upon graduation from high school he entered the U.S. Navy, serving from May 1946 to April 1948. After retirement from T.G. & Y., they moved to Lakeland, Florida where he sold real estate before returning to Oklahoma City 20 years ago.

Ned married Edith "Edie" Pearl Cochran on August 14, 1948. They just celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. Upon return to Oklahoma City in 2001, they moved into a home in Signature Villas, where he served on the homeowners' association board for a number of years. Ned and Edie were members of Church of the Servant.

He is survived by his wife, Edie; his daughters, Sharon Witcher and her husband Larry of OKC and Marsha Mills and her husband Dan of Edmond; his grandchildren, Kerri Patton and her husband Andrew and Calli Murray and her husband Reeves; his great-grandchildren, Isaac Patton, Ellis Patton and Koen Murray; his brothers, Dan Erwin and Larry Erwin; his sister, Faye Massey.

Ned was a devoted and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family will always cherish memories of fun times including family dinners, playing cards, swimming, catfish cookouts, and vacations to Florida beaches, Disney World, and Las Vegas.

Ned will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
