Ida Beatrice Walker was born on November 20th, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio, to Allen Spears and Ethel Spears Melton. She graduated from Mound Bayou high school in Mound Bayou, MS, in 1967 and took business courses at Cortez Business College of Chicago and Omaha OIC. On April 7th, 1973, Ida was united in holy matrimony to Ward R. Walker Jr. in Chicago and to this union their sons, Frederick and Chadrick, were born. Throughout her 48 years of marriage to Ward, Ida devoted herself to her family, to their development, health and happiness, activities, and careers. Despite her own health challenges, Ida's family and friends' well-being was of utmost importance to her. When her workday ended after more than 30 years in retail sales, Ida was with her sons participating in little leagues or volunteering with Billy Graham Association. Ida confessed her hope in Christ earlier in life and was baptized at Mt. Moriah Church in Winstonville, MS. On July 16th, 2021, at home in Oklahoma City, OK, Ida departed this life to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
