Obituary

Ivan Stone, 89, of Oklahoma City passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City. A native of Oklahoma City, he was born March 4, 1931 to James and Honore Stone. He grew up in South OKC along with his siblings Kenneth, Robert and Mildred. Ivan was a US Air Force Veteran and Served his country proudly in Vietnam. Following his active duty tour he served as a Tech. Sargent and worked on Aircrafts. Ivan retired from the USAF in 1971 and began working for Mercy Hospital as a Carpenter. He worked for Mercy until 1996 and made many friendships and great memories during his time at the hospital. Ivan married Lucy Shoemaker in 1958 and they were blessed with 4 children, John, Michael, Lisa and Patricia. Ivan was a great husband, father and grandfather as well as a trustworthy friend. He worked hard to provide for his family and made sure they knew how much he loved them. He and Lucy enjoyed going dancing at the NCO club, parties and even around the house on many occasions. Ivan had a lot of interesting hobbies. Paintball was one of his favorite activates and he enjoyed slot car racing as well. Ivan built many slot cars and raced them over the years. Although he enjoyed those things, nothing brought him more joy than spending quality time with his family. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all the lives he touched. He was preceded in death by Parents; James and Honore Stone Wife, Lucy Stone of 56 years Brother, Robert Stone Sister, Mildred Boyer Son In Law, Gregory Beavers Survivors include Daughter, Trish Guthrie Daughter, Lisa Beavers Son, John Stone Son, Michael Stone and wife Mary Lynn Brother, Kenneth Stone and wife Hazel 5 Grandchildren: Amanda Stone, Lisa Stone, Layla Thompson and husband Matthew, Chase Guthrie and wife Laney, Hunter Guthrie and fiancée Andrea Myers 7 Great Grandchildren: Blue Sky Chandler, Phoenix Thompson, Lana Thompson, Cale Guthrie, Zeke Guthrie, Gabe Guthrie, Mason Guthrie.
