Jack Leroy Meyers, age 101, entered into the presence of his Savior on June 11, 2026. Born on October 16, 1924, in Lahoma, Oklahoma, to Ida Mae (Sommers) and K.C. (Karl Charles) Meyers, Jack lived a life marked by faith, service, humility, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Jack proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy as an Aviation Radioman Second Class. The discipline, dedication, and sense of service he developed during those years remained evident throughout his life.

After returning home from the war, Jack’s attention was once again drawn to a young woman he had seen around town and exchanged brief conversations with over the years. At a local auction, he watched as Nell Jean Morefield chased after a group of pigs, and the moment finally gave them the opportunity to truly talk. That conversation began a love story that would span a lifetime. Together, Jack and Jean built a home centered on faith, family, and commitment, sharing 61 years of marriage and raising two daughters.

Their marriage was marked by enduring devotion and treasured traditions. Jean had a suit specially made for Jack for their wedding day, and every anniversary weekend thereafter, he proudly wore that same suit. It became a symbol of the steadfast love and faithfulness they shared throughout their years together.

A hardworking man with a servant’s heart, Jack spent many years driving semi trucks, faithfully providing for his family. Yet those who knew him best understood that his greatest purpose was serving Christ. His faith was not reserved for Sundays but was woven into every aspect of his life. Through decades of teaching Sunday School, encouraging others, and quietly serving wherever needed, Jack lived out the Gospel he believed. He was, in every sense, a good and faithful servant.

His faith left a lasting legacy within his family. Among his most treasured privileges were the opportunities to baptize some of his grandchildren, sharing not only a family bond but also the faith that guided his life.

Jack was also a gifted storyteller. He delighted generations of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends with stories, jokes, family memories, and lessons learned over a century of living. One favorite memory shared by many was hearing him tell The Three Little Pigs in Spanish. Whether teaching, entertaining, or preserving family history, Jack had a remarkable ability to bring stories to life and make everyone gathered around him feel special.

He devoted countless hours to supporting young people through church activities, Sunday School, and Camp Fire Girls. He found joy in encouraging others, celebrating their successes, and helping them discover their own gifts and talents.

Jack’s family will remember the little things that made him uniquely himself: his plaid shirts, his gentle humor, his occasional need to “rest his eyes,” and his playful spirit. There were lawn mower races, laughter-filled family gatherings, and countless moments that reflected his love for life and for the people around him. He never passed up a bowl of Neapolitan or mint chocolate chip ice cream, a ginger snap cookie, or a slice of chocolate cake.

More than anything, Jack loved his family. He celebrated their accomplishments, offered wisdom when it was needed, listened carefully, prayed faithfully, and filled their lives with love. His influence extends far beyond what can be measured, living on in the faith, stories, traditions, and values he passed down to future generations.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jean Meyers.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Meyers of Houston, Texas, and Jenifer Meyers Watson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends who were blessed by his life and example.

While his family grieves his loss, they rejoice in the assurance that Jack has heard the words spoken by his Savior: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His legacy of faith, love, storytelling, service, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who knew him for generations to come.
