U. S. Army Ret-PSG-E7 MP Jackie R. Davis passed away peacefully August 17, 2010. Born April 10, 1936, Jack served his country honorably for over 20 years including two tours in Vietnam. His professional career was as "Chief Investigator" for the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission. Jack was a true Renaissance Man during his time on earth with interest in culinary art, music, traveling, camping, panning for gold, he was even a published fictional writer. Whether it was making cinnamon rolls for others or going to the local nursing home to provide entertainment, Jack gave of himself to others. However, it was as a "Grandfather" for which he found his highest calling. Jack put the "Grand" in "Grandfather." He piloted the Ashworth School Bus for several years shuttling his granddaughters back and forth to school during which time he imparted his love and wisdom upon his most loved bobacious girls. Jack is survived by his wife, Mary Davis and sons Bill Davis and Mark Ashworth and his wife Debra and their daughters Shannon, Mary Helen and Katy. Others include, granddaughter Rhianna Brabender and her husband Herb and their boys, Christian and Morgan along with his grandson, T.J. Dennis of Enid. The family will greet visitors on Thursday evening from 6-8pm at Vondel Smith Mortuary North. Services will be held Friday, at 2pm at Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel.
