Services for Jack will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 8, 2018 at South Colonial Chapel (6934 S. Western Ave, OKC, OK 73139). Graveside services for Jack will take place 3:30 PM Monday, January 8, 2018 at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Jackie Ray DeShields, fondly known as "Jack" by his family and friends, departed this earthly life for his Heavenly reward on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the age of 70. The son of Roy and Clemmie (Harrison) DeShields, Jack was born July 7, 1947 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After attending high school, Jack honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On September 12, 1969, he married the love of his life, Karen Lee Jones and together shared more than 48 years of making memories and raising their family. He provided a warm and loving home for his family by working at Unit Parts for 10 years before becoming a tire inspector at Dayton Tires where he worked for 27 years. When Jack wasn't working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling with his family. Most of all, Jack loved being with his family. He was a very kind-hearted man who always put the needs of others first. He wanted to make certain his family was more than taken care of. The sun rose and set on his granddaughter, Krissy, his great-grandson, Layten and great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Haley, Nicole, & Teigan. Jack will be deeply missed each day. He was preceded in death by his: Parents. He leaves cherished memories with his loving: Wife of 48 years, Karen DeShields; Daughter, Tammy Bailey and her husband, Earl; Granddaughter, Ashlynn Warf and her husband, Christian; Granddaughter, Kristalynn Pirkle and her husband, Travis; Granddaughter, Kristin Peterson and her husband, Hunter; Granddaughter, Ashley Carden; Great Grandchildren: Layten Pirkle, Elizabeth Peterson, Haley Peterson, Nicole Peterson, & Teigan Watkins; Sister, Linda Lockard and her husband, Darrell; Sister, Violet Goodnight; Many nieces, nephews and friends.
