IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jackie
Ramos
October 4, 1934 – October 8, 2011
Services 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Brookwood Baptist Church
Dear Friends,
I was born in Oklahoma City, OK on October 4, 1934 to Ortha Marie Davenport and Mac Ramos. I graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1953, after which I joined the Naval Reserve and served for 8 years. At the age of 14, I went to work for my father at his company A.R.K. Manufacturing. I helped my brother Max, start Ramos Manufacturing and later merged with A.R.K., which grew to become an internationally known company for their quality of work. I became President and my brother became CEO. I held this position until my semi-retirement from A.R.K. Ramos 3 years ago. One of my proudest moments was when A.R.K. was selected to produce the chairs for the Oklahoma City National Memorial. Other sources of fulfillment included serving 29 years with the Oklahoma City Rotary Club where I acted as President, opening my home to many foreign exchange students, actively working with organizations throughout the community including the YMCA board, and the Economic Development board. I enjoyed my church, Brookwood Baptist, as well as traveling,
skiing, boating, playing with my dog Major, and all things Boomer Sooner. I went to be with my Lord and Savior at the age of 77 on October 8, 2011.
I am survived by:
my wife of 56 years, Virginia Shirley Lee;
one brother, Ed Ramos;
one son, Jack Rodney and his wife Vicki of Oklahoma City;
two daughters, Regina and husband Bill Morris of Bowie, MD
and Valinda Parker, and her husband, Mike of Plainview, TX;

8 great-grandchildren;
Also, a special nephew that has been part of our lives since the day he was born, Michael Dee Gotcher and wife, Nheree and their 8 children, which we have always thought of as ours.
I am preceded in death by:
parents,
