Challis
September 19, 1952 – March 29, 2023
James "Jim" Edward Challis, Jr went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the age of 70. The son of Betty Lou (Horner) and James Edward Challis, Sr., he was born on September 19, 1952 in Kermit, Texas. Jim graduated from U.S. Grant High School in 1971 in Oklahoma City. For many years, Jim worked in the automotive parts and services industry, until he retired in 2014. As a young adult Jim played softball with many friends for several local businesses where he made lifelong friendships. Jim had a true passion for music in early adulthood. He was the bass player for "The Looney Tunes", "The Pat Challis Band" and various others throughout the years. Jim loved all aspects of music and cherished time playing alongside his brother, Pat. But the absolute most wonderful part of his life was his family. Jim was blessed with four children: Scott, Jamie, Aaron and Jennifer. That is where he found his true happiness in life, with his children. Jim always made the most of moments he spent with each of them.
