James Holder Hammock, 89, passed from this life May 23, 2023. He was born March 18, 1934 in Atlanta, GA City the son of James Baker and Helen Katherine (Holder) Hammock. James graduated from Lindale High School. He served in the Army and was stationed at the US Military Academy West Point in New York. He was married to Margaret (Sanford) Hammock and together they raised 2 children.

James worked as a store manager for more than 25 years for S.H. Kress & Co. and TG&Y Stores, and later for Hobby Lobby. He was an avid golf fan, OU fan and enjoyed dancing with his second wife, Dorothy (Curtis) Hammock.

James was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorthy Hammock and brother, Ken Hammock.

He leaves cherished memories with his sister, Sally Hammock; brother, William (Mac) Hammock; brother, John Hammock; son, David Hammock; daughter, Sharon (Hammock) Shepherd; loving companion Betty Wang, daughter-in-law, Amy Cohen; 3 grandchildren; and many friends and other loved ones.
