Viewing will be 4 - 8 PM Saturday and 12 - 8 PM Sunday. Services will be 12:00 PM Monday, October 9 at the South Colonial Chapel with burial following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

James Carlos Kirkpatrick, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the age of 92. The son of Carlos M. Kirkpatrick and Helen Koster, James was born on October 17, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. James grew up attending Oklahoma City schools and later graduated from Central High School where he was actively involved in track and basketball. After graduation, James served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he continued his education at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. In 1962, he met Carmon Freeman and they fell in love and were married on October 24, 1962 at Saint Luke's United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. This union of marriage was blessed with three sons, Richard Joel, Clayton Dale, and Trenton James. For more than 25 years, James worked at the Humpty Dumpty on SW 25th and S. Walker Ave, before moving on in his career to Tinker Air Force Base where he worked as a Program Manager in the B-52 Supply Depot until his retirement. In his spare time, James enjoyed many hobbies including coaching youth as well as adult basketball and softball; however nothing was more important to him than spending time with his wife and family to whom he was deeply devoted. He will be greatly missed.

James was preceded in death by his:

• Parents, Carlos and Helen;

• Son, Trenton;

• Sister, Betty Helen Bell.

James is survived by his family:

• Wife of 60 years, Carmon Kirkpatrick;

• Son, Richard Joel and Clayton Dale;

• Granddaughter, Lucy Renaud and her husband, Ronnie;

• Grandson, Bobby Cagle;

• Four Great Grandchildren:

• As well as many extended family members and friends.
