James "Tim"
McCracken
Sep 9, 1966 — May 4, 2026
James Timothy “Tim” McCracken, 59, went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 4, 2026. Tim passed peacefully with his family by his side.
Tim was born on September 9, 1966 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Rev. J.T. and Geneva McCracken. He was raised in Moore, Oklahoma after moving from Kentucky when he was in 6th grade. He graduated from Moore Christian Academy in 1986, eventually!!! Tim would tell you that he was the only kid driving to school in 6th grade.
On October 12, 1991, Tim married his sweetheart, Brenda Jo Wisel. Then on January 6,1996, they were gifted with a wonderful son, Baylor J. In his spare time, Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and pestering Baylor and his buddies!!!
Tim will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but he will always be remembered for being sober 8 years, 1 month and 12 days, praising Jesus and passing out Celebrate Recovery cards. His famous statement was “Hey, if you are struggling with addiction or know of someone who is, here is my card, my number is on the back”!!! He passed these precious cards out wherever he went, restaurants, drive-throughs, and just walking in public.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. J.T. and Geneva McCracken, Brother-in-laws: Pat Kinser, Donnie Couser, and Ron Baker; Nephews: Daniel Woosley and Deane Berry.
He is survived by his Wife: Brenda; Son: Baylor McCracken and wife Chintalah; Grandchildren: Wesley, Maela, and Remington; Brothers, Nick McCracken and wife Faye; David McCracken and wife Nancy; Paul McCracken and wife Vickie; Mark McCracken and wife Misty; Joel McCracken and wife Brette; Sisters, Sandy Reynolds and husband Gary; Nancy Woosley and husband David; Cathy Boehrer and husband Tim; Paula Waldrop and husband Phillip; Anita Couser; as well as numerous Nephews, Nieces, greats, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Celebrate Recovery Fund through Shartel Church of God https://www.shartelchurch.org/give
