James William Roe departed this earthly life for his Heavenly reward on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the age of 83. The son of Frank & Grace Roe, James was born Feb 7, 1932 in Burneyville, OK. James was raised in the Daugherty/Thackerville areas, where he learned to break horses, worked on the farm, raised crops and help other families work their homesteads. James honorably served his country in the US Air National Guard, where he became a skilled mechanic. His superior told him that he'd never met anyone who understood carburetors more than James did, so he was asked to teach that subject at their school. On Dec 10, 1955, he married his sweetheart, Elizabeth Ann Swanda and together shared many memories until her passing. A hard worker all of his life and devoted family man, James worked as a lead diesel mechanic for LC Jones Trucking, Cummin Distributor, and Dyno Room for a collective 33 years. In his spare time, James enjoyed storytelling, hunting, & fishing, was an animal enthusiast, watching Western movies and proud member of the NRA.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Elizabeth; 3 brothers: Samuel, Earnest Lee & Ray Roe; a niece & a nephew.
He leaves behind his loving daughters: Debbie & Sarah Roe; sister, Freda Wolfe; brother, Wesley Roe; sister, Shirley Sommer & husband, Earl; sister Barbara Thomas; and sister, Lynda Leeth & husband, Marvin, and many other loving family & friends.
