Wendel Walters, 75, departed this earthly life on Feb. 17, 2015. He was born Dec. 9, 1939 in Woodland, OK to James Leonard & Arline (Snead) Walters. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1943 with his Parents, and brother, & lived in South OKC for the rest of his life, some 67 years, except for the 3 years he proudly served his country in the US Army. His time in the Army was served in Germany, & Ft. Rucker, AR. He attended Lee Elementary, Capitol Hill Jr. High & HS. After graduating with a BBA degree from OU in 1970, he went to work for Tom Brown Optical in 1971. After 10 years with Brown Optical, Wendel began his own business & operated Wendel Walters Optical, Best Buy Eyeglasses & Discount Eyeglasses for more than 34 years. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles & sister, Martha Jo (Walters) Kinnamon, he is survived by his son, James Brian Walters; grandson, James Alexander Walters; granddaughter, Ashton Harley Walters; nephews, Alan & Eric (Walters) Hamrick, Kent Foss; nieces, Jamie Agee & Kelli Kinnamon
