Janice Aline Bruce

January 20, 1958 ~ June 7, 2025

Janice Aline Bruce went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the age of 67. The daughter of Sallie Aline (Parker) and Robert William Baughman, Janice was born on January 20, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up attending schools in the OKC and Moore areas and graduated from Moore High School in 1976. After graduation, Janice began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone for a few years, before accepting a job with the City of Oklahoma City Code Enforcement Department. Janice enjoyed her work as a code enforcement officer and dedicated 28 years of service before retiring. Janice met a handsome young man by the name of Robert Bruce and the two became inseparable and fell in love. They were united in marriage on April 12, 1997 and together shared more than 28 years together. Not one to sit still very long, Janice found enjoyment and fulfillment in many hobbies and activities when she wasn't working including shopping and working part time assistant on funeral services at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary and Resthaven Memory Gardens attending to the needs of families, delivering flowers and working funeral, driving family cars and helping the funeral directors. It was work and a passion to help others that Janice enjoyed. Janice was also fond of baking and was very talented and well known for her baking skills. She won many Blue Ribbons on her pies at the Oklahoma State Fair competitions and was honored to be selected at the First Runner Up when Pillsbury was rebranding their company's image and logo with a picture of her excellent baking products. Janice was also a dedicated daughter who cared for, looked after the needs of her mother, Sallie on a daily basis after the passing of her father. She enjoyed cooking for her mother, taking her shopping, spending time playing cards and looking after her health and home needs til her mother's passing. Janice was also an avid animal lover, who displayed an extra special soft spot in her heart for dogs in general and Dalmatians, three of which were her beloved furry companions and whom she treated as her babies. Her first pet, "Lucy", a Anatolian Shepherd dog and her second dog was "Sisu" a Dalmatian who preceded her in death. And her most recent love and special addition to the family was her puppy "Daisy" who was her constant companion throughout these past few difficult months. Janice knew the Lord as her personal friend and Savior. She enjoyed spreading the good news and engaging about the Lord with others. She was an active member of the Gideon's for many years. Janice gave of herself, her talents and her time. She was a very caring, loving and thoughtful person who will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. She loved and cared deeply for her family and she will be held close to our hearts each day. We rejoice in knowing she is no longer suffering and in the fact that we will be reunited with her again someday.

Husband of 28 years, Robert Bruce;

Step-Son, Austin Bruce and his wife, Kawtar and their 3 year old daughter, Mia;

Brother, Robert "Bobby" Baughman and his wife, Linda;

Nieces: Julie Fisher and Kimberly Starzyk;

Nephews: Dustin Fisher, Andrew Bruce, Phillip Bruce and Gregory Stroud;

Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law: Richard & Cheri Bruce
