Janice "Mimi" Higginbotham, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in Oklahoma City, surrounded by the love of her family.
Jan was the devoted wife of Johnny Higginbotham, with whom she shared 38 beautiful years of marriage filled with joy, adventure, and countless drives through the Oklahoma countryside. A loving mother, she is survived by her daughters Holli Huckeby and Carla Colwell, son-in-law Kevin Colwell and son Johnny Higginbotham, Jr. She was a proud and deeply devoted grandmother to Josh Huckeby, Bailey & Cale Black, Chase Huckeby & McKenzie Baker, Garrett & Ashley Colwell, and Ashten Colwell & Mitchell Bradshaw. Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Rylie Huckeby, Ozzie Black, and Cooper Colwell.
Jan is also survived by her brother James Holding, sister Linda Brumley, and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews who brought her endless joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Holding and Opal Greenroyd, her brother Jerry Don Holding, and her son-in-law Mark Huckeby.
Janice lived a life centered on love, kindness, and generosity. She loved her family fearlessly and poured herself into every relationship with sincerity and warmth. Whether it was tending to her flower garden, enjoying a quiet drive with Johnny, or sharing laughter with her grandchildren, Jan found happiness in the simple joys of life.
Her final resting place will be at Vondel L. Smith South Lakes Heritage Burial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, where her memory will be cherished forever.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, support, and love shown during this time. Mimi's spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
